19/10/2010 CDDA data available in protectedplanet

The most recent version of the World Database on Protected Areas and its sister website protectedplanet were updated on the 19th of October to include the latest set of boundaries from the Common Database on Designated Areas (CDDA), which is available to download on the EEA data service.

The updated version of protectedplanet was unveiled today by the UNEP-WCMC at the CBD's 10th Conference of the parties meeting being held in Nagoya, Japan.

The inclusion of the CDDA into the WDPA and protectedplanet is the result of close cooperation between the EEA, ETC/BD and the WCMC. The CDDA is the single largest contributor to this global dataset.
